So NOW you’re MAD?

Tea Party ProblemsWe had eight years of Bush and Cheney who trampled on the Constitution, but now you get mad. You didn’t get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President although that is nowhere to be found in the U.S. Constitution giving them that power…nor is there anything about corporations being “people.”

You didn’t get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate energy policy…even when it was proved that the energy crisis in California was created by ENRON.

You didn’t get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed and other acts of definable acts of treason were secretly done against the country.

You didn’t get mad when the Patriot Act got passed and we operated under a Soviet Union style of surveillance of citizens.

You didn’t get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us and hanged it’s elected leader.

You didn’t get mad when we spent over $600 billion (and counting) on said illegal war.

You didn’t get mad when over $10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq.

You didn’t get mad when you found out we were torturing people even though we hanged Nazis for doing the same thing.

You didn’t get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.

You didn’t get mad when we didn’t catch Bin Laden.

You didn’t get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed which our returning wounded soldiers had to endure after fighting for their country.

You didn’t get mad when we let a major US city drown due to shoddy levees built by the government.

You didn’t get mad when we gave a $900 billion tax break to the rich and major corporations, many of whom paid no taxes on the billions in profit they made.

You didn’t get mad when, using reconciliation; a trillion dollars of our tax dollars were redirected to insurance companies for Medicare Advantage which cost over 20 percent more for basically the same services that Medicare provides.

You didn’t get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark, and our debt hit the thirteen trillion dollar mark.

BUT you finally got mad when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick.

Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, illegal surveillance of American citizens, are all okay with you, but helping other Americans…oh hell no.

We had eight years of Bush and Cheney, but now you get mad!
George W. Bush is the most sincere President this Country has seen since Ronald Reagan!

You didn’t get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.
Versus having a guy that said he invented the Internet and made up a 45 minute B.S. slide show about global warming be President. I could not be happier!

You didn’t get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate energy policy.
This is not true. There was a Energy Task Force which of course included energy companies. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/documents/cheney_energy_task_force.html also see: http://newsflavor.com/politics/us-politics/energy-and-the-confused-lawmakers-that-dictate-policy/

You didn’t get mad when a covert CIA operative got ousted.
Judge John D. Bates dismissed the Wilson’s lawsuit on jurisdictional grounds on July 19, 2007; the Wilsons appealed. On August 12, 2008, in a 2-1 decision, the three-judge panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit upheld the dismissal.

You didn’t get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.
And because of the Patriot Act, you are still able to send your email.

You didn’t get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.
So many terrorist plots being conceived in this land and with the terrorist Saddam Hussein killing over 200,000 of his own people, it cannot be considered a non-threat. 550 metric tons of nuclear yellowcake found in Iraq and kept secret to prevent invading troops from trying to steal it. This is something that never made the evening news. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25546334/

You didn’t get mad when we spent over 600 billion (and counting) on said illegal war.
Nobody, but the freed Iraqi people are thrilled about the money spent, but it had to be done.

You didn’t get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq.
There is no question some mistakes were made. “Paul Bremer, the head of the CPA, stated millions of civil service families had not received salaries or pensions for months and there was no effective banking system. “It was not a perfect solution,” he said. “Delay might well have exacerbated the nascent insurgency and thereby increased the danger to Americans.” http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2007/feb/08/usa.iraq1

You didn’t get mad when you found out we were torturing people.
See More You must read “Courting Disaster: How the CIA Kept America Safe and How Barack Obama Is Inviting the Next Attack by Marc A. Thiessen before you make such ridiculous accusations.

You didn’t get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.
Mostly non-Americans. If it keeps us safe, have at it. Those who complain the loudest usually have something to hide.

You didn’t get mad when we didn’t catch Bin Laden.
Nobody is sure if he is still alive and if he is, he is living in a hole somewhere while you are you are living in a home, free, in America.

You didn’t get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.
Because of the intense use of the facility, the wear and tear has taken its toll. It needs to be renovated, but taking space out of use to do so, sometimes is worse than dealing with the condition. “Our entire VA hospital system is sick and must be fixed because our military men and women deserve so much better. It’s disgraceful that it’s deteriorated to this condition. But, unfortunately, it’s not surprising considering it’s the US government that runs the entire system. Which brings us to the bigger picture. John Edwards, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry and many other liberals sing the praises of universal health care. They insist that it is the best way to make sure everyone has the best care possible. However, if the US government is so bogged down financially and politically that it’s incapable of providing the best health care possible for our veterans and injured military men and women returning from war who have sacrificed so much to protect us, then how the hell is that same US government going to provide the best health care for the rest of the 300 million people in this country? Universal health care will be a gargantuan version of the VA and military health care systems.” http://wizbangblog.com/content/2007/02/21/walter-reed-hospital-in-horrib.php

You didn’t get mad when we let a major US city drown.
A natural disaster is hardly “letting a city drown”. But I got mad when the population INCLUDING the police are looting.

You didn’t get mad when we gave a 900 billion tax break to the rich.
See More ”Tax breaks as currently designed are fundamentally unjust. A $1,000 tax deduction might be worth $400 to a wealthy household in the 40 percent tax bracket, $200 to a middle-income household in the 20 percent tax bracket, and nothing at all to a family that pays no income taxes. (Keep in mind that almost 40 percent of all U.S. households have no income tax liability.)” So if you have no tax income liability, then refunding a tax to you is nothing but a handout. And there is where the problems begin.

You didn’t get mad when, using reconciliation; a trillion dollars of our tax dollars were redirected to insurance companies for Medicare Advantage which cost over 20 percent more for basically the same services that Medicare provides.
To be accurate, “However, Medicare Advantage members receive additional coverage and medical benefits not enjoyed by traditional Medicare members, and savings generated by Medicare Advantage plans may be passed on to beneficiaries to lower their overall health care costs. Other important distinctions between Medicare Advantage and traditional Medicare are that Medicare Advantage health plans encourage preventive care and wellness and closely coordinate patient care.” “The Government Accountability Office reported that in 2006, the plans earned profits of 6.6 percent, had overhead (sales, etc.) of 10.1 percent, and provided 83.3 percent of the revenue dollar in medical benefits. These administrative costs are far higher than traditional fee-for-service Medicare.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medicare_%28United_States%29 So now you are concerned about spending tax dollars to give the needy better healthcare?

You didn’t get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark, and our debt hit the thirteen trillion dollar mark.
So it is better to keep spending and not reverse what was started? Of course we are mad.

You finally got mad when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick.
Anyone that needs to see a doctor in this Country sees a doctor.

Yes…illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer…All are okay with you, but helping other Americans…
???????? We are all about helping other Americans, but not at the cost of runaway Government. This movement has been an eye-opener for a lot of people and it will change, but not the free ride it is on now.

  2. Sheila says:

You state: “Anyone that needs to see a doctor in this Country sees a doctor.” How little you know. No they don’t unless they have tons of money. It is too expensive to get the care you need.

  3. Sanford says:

Tad – appreciate the feedback, but can I reply to your statements?

George W. Bush is the most sincere President this Country has seen since Ronald Reagan!
Wha??? A President and his puppet – and you call the puppet sincere? How was Bush more sincere than anyone else in office? The man sat stone-faced as he was informed the WTC was attacked – and sat there for four minutes as if contemplating what to do next. Sincere?

Versus having a guy that said he invented the Internet and made up a 45 minute B.S. slide show about global warming be President. I could not be happier!
Ummm – I am discussing the law, and you’re discussing a person’s Powerpoint? Wah?

This is not true. There was a Energy Task Force which of course included energy companies. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/documents/cheney_energy_task_force.html also see: http://newsflavor.com/politics/us-politics/energy-and-the-confused-lawmakers-that-dictate-policy/
Yes – it was Energy companies – who focused on their needs not the country’s needs. We are part of a global system – focusing on the world at large and our stewardship of it. By focusing on the profits of those energy companies and going for the big buck rather than working to wean ourselves off of pollutants and our dependency on oil that causes the problems we have in the Middle East and abroad, that is not a national energy policy – that is the support of donors and lobbyists.

Ummm – okay, I can not argue the law – though I could use your earlier technique on the fact that it was a dumb thing to do – especially when the safety and security of our country relies on the confidentiality and secrecy that is important for our operating in this world. But if you think political retribution is more important that national security – you go right ahead and think this is okay.

And because of the Patriot Act, you are still able to send your email.
Ummm – what? Email gets sent because of the Internet, the SMTP protocol and other capitalistic endeavors to provide telecommunications. How does the Patriot Act – which essentially erodes civil liberties – help get my email through? Did you not read a couple of poems from WWII where they would talk about fighting for our rights and liberties before they are taken away?

So many terrorist plots being conceived in this land and with the terrorist Saddam Hussein killing over 200,000 of his own people, it cannot be considered a non-threat. 550 metric tons of nuclear yellowcake found in Iraq and kept secret to prevent invading troops from trying to steal it. This is something that never made the evening news. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25546334/
Ummm – okay, then are you advocating the invasion of other nations that are currently housing other terrorist groups as well? If so, then I can not argue your opinion. But no where was it a threat to OUR national security – the place where the threat existed was in Afghanistan and we LEFT just before we could capture the terrorists who had attacked us on 9/11. Please – your comment is like suggesting that we allow the wholesale removal of your property because you were sending emails against the government. Oh wait – that could happen under the Patriot Act.

Nobody, but the freed Iraqi people are thrilled about the money spent, but it had to be done.
I have to assume you are correct – but I would have happily used that money to build more schools, healthcare, clean energy research, retooling and building up technologies to continue the American dominance in intellectual development and discovery. But I am THRILLED that the Iraqi people are thrilled – as I watch so many of our own citizens go hungry, live on the streets, etc.

And $10B could have easily helped with our manned mission to Mars that both Bush and Obama want. And given us even more jobs for our future.

See More You must read “Courting Disaster: How the CIA Kept America Safe and How Barack Obama Is Inviting the Next Attack by Marc A. Thiessen before you make such ridiculous accusations.
Ummmm – you mean the fear-mongering book that suggests that we should continue shredding our Constitution and Bill of Rights to potentially safeguard our country and destroy our own moral authority on how governments should treat people? Have you not been schooled in the history of genocide and the Geneva Convention? heck, even our own Declaration of Independence said that “All men are created equal and are endowed by certain unalienable rights – the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” No where does it say that it is about destroying the humanity for our country simple to make ourselves feel safer. I hate to admit it – but we will always be at risk of danger because of these freedoms – but I would rather die free than live in tyranny and persecution simply because of the concern for safety.

Mostly non-Americans. If it keeps us safe, have at it. Those who complain the loudest usually have something to hide.
Ummm – try again. The algorithms do not simply tap non-Americans – it goes across all our phonelines. I would not be surprised if this comment/ppost does nto set off red flags – and I am a card-carrying, tax-paying, red-blooded American.

Nobody is sure if he is still alive and if he is, he is living in a hole somewhere while you are you are living in a home, free, in America.
Oh great – while his minions plot additional acts of terror around the world – and we wait for his next missive. We almost had him – and we let him go. That is what is upsetting – but, you comfort yourself that he is miserable now.

Because of the intense use of the facility, the wear and tear has taken its toll. It needs to be renovated, but taking space out of use to do so, sometimes is worse than dealing with the condition. “Our entire VA hospital system is sick and must be fixed because our military men and women deserve so much better. Ummm – so are you saying we should upgrade healthcare for our military veterans or not? I am quite confused with your response.

You didn’t get mad when we let a major US city drown.
A natural disaster is hardly “letting a city drown”. But I got mad when the population INCLUDING the police are looting.
Ummm – the Federal Government’s response was anemic and disgusting. That is what is an embarrassment. Were you not upset about that?

You didn’t get mad when we gave a 900 billion tax break to the rich.
”Tax breaks as currently designed are fundamentally unjust.
OMG – the tax rebates were given to spur on spending – and now the argument is that 40% of the people in America got a handout of $300 and $600 at different times? Something sounds hypocritical when someone who is upset at wanting taxes lowered, but services maintained and they gets upset that some people get support directly? Even Flat Taxers know that in order to help the lower income people, you need to provide some financial support for regressive tax schemes. I, for one, while I am not a fan of paying so much in taxes, recognize that we are a society, not 300M individual fiefdoms. We have to support others – and in a world where we try our best to be good to all, some people take advantage of it. I am assuming you tithe at church? Is that not what you are doing for the church and for the society supported by their programs?

No – I am concerned about overspending on Medicare – essentially paying a premium to the insurance companies and filling the pockets of those companies while not using the marketplace to ensure effective pricing and support for medical care that would address the issues – without government handouts.

You didn’t get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark, and our debt hit the thirteen trillion dollar mark.
So it is better to keep spending and not reverse what was started? Of course we are mad.
Ummmm – economists more intelligent that I knew the failed history of the Great Depression and how turning off the spigot would have killed the global economy. The banks are the ones who killed the credit lines and starved growth. Who else is there to help save society? I am upset that they did not place greater transparency and controls in place to ensure our future safety with their bailout. But I also know that the government is getting paid back – rather than pissing the money away on a non-useful war.

You finally got mad when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick.
Anyone that needs to see a doctor in this Country sees a doctor.
Ummm – do you not watch the same television and read the same newspapers I do? The number of people who are turned away from proper medical care because of lack of insurance or money? The fact that we have to pay for catastrophic medical care, but never mind the preventative health care that would keep our long term costs down. Oh, that’s right – you like the marketplace and the support of health care programs, insurance companies making money off of illness and such.

One thing you might take note: mistakes from the past means belt-tightening for the future. I would rather floss now than have to pay for dentures later. I would rather pain now, then the destruction of our American way of life later. You want to convince me of your concerns for being overtaxed and runaway spending. Then tell me why over half of our budget goes to Defense spending for weapons systems we are not using since the Soviets have all but disappeared. We spend more than the next 15 countries COMBINED spend. Drop it in half – and you will see a savings like crazy. See here for more details.

Sorry – just not supporting your position Tad.

  4. ABC says:

“Anyone that needs to see a doctor in this country sees a doctor.”

BULL. I can most definitely attest that this is NOT the case. My epileptic brother, cannot simply “see” a doctor due to high costs without insurance and/or insurance companies that have such high restrictive costs. He doesn’t qualify for disability. People who go repeatedly to the emergency room for any type of treatment cost YOU and everybody else money in the long run. This is NOT an option, nor does it help with prevention of diseases that would only cost YOU more money. Why shouldn’t he be able to receive the care he needs to SURVIVE? He has a job, but this job is not enough for him to be able to afford a doctor’s visit, or the medication he needs. Not EVERYBODY qualifies for governmental assistance, and those people who are in the middle of being able to afford insurance and qualifying for governmental assistance most often CANNOT afford to see a doctor when they truly need to. You are living in a completely crazy made-up world if you truly believe your statement to be true.

  5. Hank Lamb says:

Tab has the right attitude, but it’s not built on any actual facts. If he has the guts and Patriotism to get the real facts and to help America become a place where everyone can get the things they need in life and where we, as the Bible says, are our brothers keepers, he’ll wind up on the same side as Sanfod. The probelm this nation faces, politically, is that too many people are going off gut instinct after hearing the type of garbage FOX puts out and the phoney emails that go around, like the crap about Oabama’s birth certificate, which was made public several years ago, and has never been in question by any authorities, who know how to check them out and do (and did in this case).

You have to read other opinios to get perspective. I watch FOX and MSNBC ad know the actual truth lies somewhere in between, on most matters. But it;s really never a matter of facts that get the Right going nowdays, but fear and anger. There are no boogey men trying to take over the nations, except on Wall Street and in mansions. You’re angry at the wrong people and every time the facts point these things out, you get angry at the people carrying the facts to you, such as Julian Assange. Government lies, he let’s the truth out and he’s the one i trouble…. well, duh, US.
